Today students are being challenged in so many directions and we are losing so many of our young people because of the lack of positive mentoring and role models, hopeless living and social conditions, and educational handicaps.

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. Harriet Tubman said, “Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world”.

Today we have on with us Dr. Miles, who has his own story of growing up in Baltimore over 50 years ago in some ways the challenges then and now have not changed, many of the battles still are the same but encouragement, resilience, and faith - that you were given is what helped inspired you to become what you are today.

We welcome you as you come and share with us the history of Juneteenth and how the issues of then still affect us today!

Please as you prepare to share with these students let your story ignite their hope and their inward resilience to achieve greatness.
