Thanks to a new bill signed into law by Jerry Brown as part of the newly-minted assisted suicide law. SB 282 gives people the freedom to essentially convince loved ones that assisted suicide is the best option if they are terminally ill. Impatient about an inheritance? "Dad, call Dr. Kevorkian." Hospital bills going up? "Mom, here's a brochure." Tired of taking care of them? "Hey, it's quick and painless." Classes have only been in session a few weeks and already we’re back to demands to change campuses because decades-old buildings or statues now represent oppression. Today’s example comes from California State University-Long Beach, where students have complained that the Prospector Pete statue must go because he represents the Gold Rush, a time, which apparently, is associated more with attacks against Native Americans than searching for gold. On Tuesday, Sen. Mike Lee spoke out against the latest spending bill because it fails to defund Planned Parenthood and fails to protect those who don’t want their taxpayer dollars going to abortion-related activities. We don’t know why the Connecticut Senate rejected this bill that would have made female genital mutilation a felony, but it is likely that it was lobbied by certain constituencies that argued that it would be “Islamophobic.” And of course I’ll talk about the latest in the on-going saga of Christine Blasey Ford & Brett Kavanaugh. Don't forget about the Edwards Notebook and the Veteran's Tip of the Day! All of this and more as time allows. Listen live, join the chatroom, be a part of the show.
