Kevin Ortner, with Renters Warehouse, is on air with Abhi for their weekly discussion. They dabble in a little bit of everything, and start off the show with opportunity zones. We’ve discussed it a lot in the prior shows and people might be a little confused, but it’s all about how you can invest your capital gains tax.

Senior assisted living has been a major trend lately and there have been a lot of opportunities as the baby boomers make their way into assisted living. Kevin says there will be a continued increase in demand and you will be seeing a lot more going up around plenty of cities. Single-family homes are even being converted into assisted living facilities and they are seeing a great return on their investments. There are a few ways you can approach this investment and Kevin thinks if you are interested in it, now is the time to invest.

The impact from the government shutdown could have a minor impact. Although it has come to an end for now, there could be a temporary hold on home-buying for government employees. He said it is a “blip on the radar,” in regards to the real estate world, and Abhi encourages listeners that is shouldn’t have a long-term impact on real estate investors.
