Everyone should understand birth.

Regardless of gender, sexual orientation or whether or not you plan on giving birth to a child of your own, you need to know about childbirth.  It doesn't matter who you are, you were born and YOU need to understand how birth works and why it matters. And if you are ever planning to have children either as a mother or a partner, you need to educate yourself about the process and the way birth is managed under our current medical model. Every mother and her partner who decide to conceive a child should enter pregnancy informed of their choices. It's been said that knowledge is power. It is knowledge that will help us to move past the culture of fear around birth so we can begin our journey as parents in joy and confidence.
