Anabela Moreno, Veterans’ Benefits Day

Our guest this morning is Anabela Moreno, Commissioner of the Hawthorne Veterans Affairs.

Anabela was appointed commissioner in July 2018. She has served in the U.S. Army from 2000 to 2005 and the U.S. Army Reserve from 2005 to 2008. As a South bay native with military experience she has been very active with local veteran’s issues in her community.

The Hawthorne Veterans Affairs Commission meets regularly on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 3:15pm in the Hawthorne City Council Chambers, and the entire community is encouraged to attend.

This morning, we’re going to learn about the Veterans’ Benefits Day event taking place on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hawthorne Memorial Center and what attendees can expect.
