John La Rock, Redondo Beach Community Services Director

Our guest this morning is Redondo Beach Community Services Director, John La Rock.

John has enjoyed over thirty years in public service across the United States. With a background in art history and cultural arts management, John has held managerial and administrative positions with cultural and event organizations in New York, Houston, Boston, and Maryland. Work has taken him to all fifty states in the continental U.S. and in 2007 he settled in Redondo Beach. John is committed to creating and building upon collaborations between City staff and the highly engaged business, residential, tourism and educational community sectors in Redondo Beach and the greater South Bay. In his role as Community Services Director, John supervises the Recreation, Passports, Transit, Housing, Cultural and Senior and Family Services programs. He also supports the health and wellness programs of

the Blue Zones Project and hopes everyone takes the time to slow down and enjoy the gift that is Redondo Beach.

This morning, John is going to fill us in on the upcoming Fourth of July Fireworks.
