Shootings and Beatdowns: Are Young People Out of Control?

With the recent shooting taking place at Virginia Tech's campus and nine Dean College students being expelled after a video of a student getting beat up by a fellow student over sneakers goes viral, it leads one to wonder what is really going on with young people.

Are young people out of control, or are we just becoming more aware of the violence?  Statistics and studies have shown a study increase in violence among young people.  So what is causing this.
