We have seen that Jesus Christ preached “the gospel of the Kingdom” and that He sent His disciples out to proclaim His message before His crucifixion. However, after Christ’s death and resurrection, another emphasis appeared in the message preached by the apostles, one that had not been possible before Christ’s death— Jesus Christ had paid the penalty for human sins! In doing so, He had become the Savior of all who would accept His sacrifice and live the Christian life. 00:41:00Scott WierniknoChristianity,faith,NON-DENOMINATIONAL,gospelI hope you listen to this message it is the best of the best and something to tell all your christian friends about.Did Jesus Really Die and Live Again?http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/12/02/did-jesus-really-die-and-live-againChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/12/02/did-jesus-really-die-and-live-again/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/12/02/did-jesus-really-die-and-live-againWed, 02 Dec 2015 02:00:00 GMTDid Jesus Really Die and Live Again? One of the greatest proofs that Jesus is exactly who He said He was—the Son of God and the only One through whom eternal life is offered—is His resurrection from the dead. His followers were convinced that He was the Messiah and the Son of God. His miracles, His sinless life and His teachings all proved to them who He was. But His resurrection confirms every claim Jesus made to all people for all time. What is astounding is that Jesus put everything on the line with His own statements that He would die and be raised to life again. He foretold His own resurrection on several occasions. “And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again” (Mark 8:31). When the scribes and Pharisees wanted a sign from Him, He said only one sign would be given: “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matthew 12:40). It is quite risky to foretell your own resurrection. Yet Jesus not only foretold His resurrection, but announced precisely when He would be resurrected. So it comes down to this one event. How do we know that Jesus’ resurrection from the dead happened? 01:03:00Scott WierniknoNON-DENOMINATIONAL,Christianity,GOSPEL MUSIC,faithThis show was schedualed for November 5th but due to problems Being ill we rescheduledJesus’ Amazing Fulfillment of Prophecyhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/11/25/jesus-amazing-fulfillment-of-prophecyChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/11/25/jesus-amazing-fulfillment-of-prophecy/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/11/25/jesus-amazing-fulfillment-of-prophecyWed, 25 Nov 2015 02:00:00 GMTJesus’ Amazing Fulfillment of Prophecy"But those things which God fortold by the mouth of all His prophets... And whether we are going to believe what He taught, whether we are going to obey Him and follow in His steps in every respect, will depend on whether we are convicted on this issue. The real story of Christ’s life, death, resurrection and future return is too momentous for us to dismiss. Of course, it was planned this way so that we would sit up and take notice! The approach of most churches and denominations regarding Jesus is that He brought a new teaching differing considerably from the instructions of the Old Testament. The common view is that the teachings of Christ in the New Testament annulled and replaced the teachings of the Old Testament. But do they? The idea that Jesus departed from the Old Testament is also a common assumption within Judaism. Rabbis explains why Jews as a whole do not follow Jesus and reject any possibility that He could be the Messiah. “Jews believe in the Torah of Moses,” he explains, “… and that belief requires faithful Jews to enter a dissent at the teachings of Jesus, on the grounds that those teachings at important points contradict the Torah”. Here is a serious mistake both Christianity and Judaism make about the teachings of Jesus. Both hold the erroneous view that Jesus departed from the teachings of the Old Testament, especially with regard to law. As we will see, the record shows that while Jesus disagreed with the religious leaders, He didn’t disagree with Old Testament Scriptures. 00:52:00Scott Wierniknofaith,Christianity,NON-DENOMINATIONAL,Gospel of Jesus Christdue to diffulculties show was reschedualedMuch More Than a Manhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/11/11/much-more-than-a-manChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/11/11/much-more-than-a-man/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/11/11/much-more-than-a-manWed, 11 Nov 2015 02:00:00 GMTMuch More Than a ManToday it isn’t politically correct to state dogmatically that Jesus was more than an extraordinarily gifted person, a moral person,a wise philosopher, a Jewish sage or a political reformist. Nor is it acceptable to say that His teachings are the only route to a life beyond the grave and to lasting peace for the world. After all, we live in a world that dislikes such absolutes. And some dislike even more the authority that One who claimed to be God might claim over their lives. Thus throughout history all kinds of ideas have sprung up about Jesus of Nazareth. Why is there so much controversy over one man? He regularly makes the cover of weekly newsmagazines. More books have been written and more scholarly work done about this Jewish teacher from Galilee than any other man who ever lived. The simple answer is that He claimed to be God—and from the record was able to support that claim, as we have seen. He assures us He will prove it to the entire world when He comes to earth a second time in glory, majesty and divine supernatural power that will astound people all around the globe. Apprehensively, he attempted to dismiss the picture that was emerging in front of him. When Pilate heard the accusation, it struck fear into his heart. “He has claimed to be the Son of God” (John 19:7, NRSV). Pilate’s next question betrayed his fear that he was not dealing with an ordinary man. He had just been given a message from his wife, who received a warning in a dream not to have anything to do with this innocent man (Matthew 27:19). Pilate himself knew that Jesus had been delivered to him because the chief priests were jealous of and despised Him (verse 18). Yet Pilate couldn’t avoid his date with destiny. He next asked Jesus, “Where are You from?” (John 19:9). Pilate already knew He was Galilean. But what geographical area this Jewish teacher came from was not the question. Where are you really from is what Pilate wanted to know. Jesus was silent. What is death? What happens after death? We can find great comfort in the knowledge that God has a plan for all of mankind and that death is a temporary separation. We will be reunited with our loved ones through the resurrections God has promised. Ultimately this understanding can help us better cope with a loss caused by death. Yet we cannot deny or diminish the feeling of loss created by death. We still sorrow and grieve. How can we deal with our grief? And how can we encourage others who are grieving? Grief is a deeply personal and traumatic experience. In dealing with grief, you may find it helpful to understand the grieving process. Writers on the subject have identified several stages of grief, including denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. We will briefly examine each stage to help you understand grief and be prepared to deal with death. But bear in mind that a person in mourning may not experience these stages sequentially. No timetable for working one’s way through grief exists. Someone may feel several of the stages described here but not others. 00:44:00Scott WierniknoChristianity,NON-DENOMINATIONAL,faith,gospelyou will not want to miss this. The Promise of Life After Deathhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/10/21/the-promise-of-life-after-deathChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/10/21/the-promise-of-life-after-death/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/theprisonminister/2015/10/21/the-promise-of-life-after-deathWed, 21 Oct 2015 01:00:00 GMTThe Promise of Life After DeathIn the first chapter we dealt with God’s gift of physical life. In the second chapter we discussed death itself. We have learned that we are mortal; life is temporary. Now we will focus on what happens after death. Even though our bodies are temporary, subject to decay and death, God has planned for us much more than just this limited, physical existence. Thousands of years ago the patriarch Job asked the same question we ask ourselves: “If a man dies, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14). He went on to answer the question in stating to God: “All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee” (verses 14-15, KJV). After death a person is unconscious, waiting for God to call him from the grave and restore him to life. Mistakenly assuming that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins so we can now do whatever we want, many have a mental picture of Jesus as a quiet, docile, loving Being handing out eternal life to anyone who will simply acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior. Many believe there are many roads to God and a joyful afterlife. The Bible reveals that we each have a date with destiny when we will face Jesus and give account of our actions. Surprisingly, the way Jesus will appear when He returns and the criteria He will use in determining who will be in His Kingdom are quite different from what most people have been led to believe. Similar to the confusion surrounding Jesus’ first coming, misunderstanding is rampant regarding His return. What is the truth—the real story—about His return? Why will Christ come a second time? Jesus is pictured in the book of Revelation as the resurrected Savior, the Messiah who is preparing to return to earth a second time. “I  am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore”(Revelation 1:18). 00:33:00Scott WierniknoChristianity,faith,gospel,NON-DENOMINATIONALMisunderstanding Jesus’ expectations of His followers is one of the biggest tragedies of all. The death of Jesus Christ is the most famous in history. The state-sanctioned murder that took place almost 2,000 years ago is still in today’s news. No other crime against the innocent has remained so widespread in the consciousness of humanity for so long. This one lives on as a story that is told again and again. The injustice of the arrest, trial and death of Jesus Christ is profound in that no person was ever so innocent, so sinless, so blameless, so undeserving of such punishment. Peter testifies that He “committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth” (1 Peter 2:22). He was the most virtuous man who ever lived. Jesus challenged His enemies, “Which of you convicts Me of sin?” (John 8:46). The centurion, the officer in charge of His execution, was convinced that He had executed a righteous man (Luke 23:47). The time He had in mind to be “fulfilled” was probably a reference to the prophecy in Daniel 9:24-25, where it is said that the Messiah would come 483 years from the decree to rebuild Jerusalem. The year A.D. 27 was when the 483 years specified in the prophecy would end (see “The Bible Prophesied the Exact Year the Messiah Would Appear,” page 19). The year 27 is significant because that is the year Jesus began His ministry. He began preaching the message of the Kingdom of God in Galilee. There was never a time when He ceased to be who He always was. His identity did not change. When He was in the womb of Mary, He was God. When He was a baby boy lying in the manger, He was God. When He was a youngster growing up in Nazareth, He was God. And when He was dying, He was God. As a spirit being, prior to His human birth, He was infinite in knowledge, power and presence. As God He would know everything and have unlimited power to act on any object, anywhere. But if He was human, He could not do everything. He would be limited to the normal abilities any normal human being would have. He could not have been both infinite and finite simultaneously. It brings loneliness, sadness, disorientation. But it need not be a mystery nor be entirely devastating. Even though it is inevitable, death is not the end. Though at times death seems unfair and arbitrary, it does not thwart God’s plan for eternal life. Through a resurrection God will reunite us with family and friends and extend His promises to all who have ever lived. Eventually there will come a time when death itself will be banished. Writing about the resurrection that will take place when Jesus returns, Paul paraphrased from the book of Hosea: “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’ ‘O Death, where is your sting? The righteous and sinners all die. Jesus used two widely known tragedies of His day to acknowledge that death can be arbitrary and to draw an important lesson from it: “There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower of Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all the other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish’” (Luke 13:1-5). The details are unclear. Apparently some Jews were viciously slaughtered by Roman soldiers during a religious ceremony at the temple in Jerusalem. On another occasion a tower collapsed, killing some. Both incidents are examples of the random deaths of innocent people. Jesus says these people weren’t any worse than others. 01:06:00Scott WierniknoNON-DENOMINATIONAL,Christianity,faith,gospelDeath does not discriminate. The righteous and sinners all die. Sometimes it is preceded by suffering, the result of the infirmities of age, disease or injury. Often death is shocking and unexpected. Family and friends suffer the pain of loss. The Scriptures refer to death as “the last enemy” to be conquered (1 Corinthians 15:26) and point out mankind’s innate fear of death (Hebrews 2:15). Death remains one of life’s greatest mysteries. Religions offer a variety of answers, some seemingly credible and some beyond belief. Their explanations often contradict one another, adding to the confusion and uncertainty about what happens after death. A very common idea is that people are born with immortal souls. Many believe that after death the soul is conscious and proceeds to a literal place or condition of bliss or torment. Others teach that at death the soul is absorbed into a “greater consciousness.” Some expect to be reincarnated, coming back to earth as another person or as an animal. Can we pinpoint just what death is? Do we have immortal souls? Are we conscious after we die? Are we destined to go somewhere to experience some form of reward or punishment? 00:40:00Scott Wierniknofaith,NON-DENOMINATIONAL,Christianity,gospelDeath is a fearful, often traumatic event. The world’s greatest thinkers, including the Greek philosophers Plato, Aristotle and Socrates, have struggled with this question. Scientists and theologians have dedicated lifetimes to trying to find the keys that unlock the mystery of human existence. But only the One who created life in the first place can supply the answers we so desperately need. We must look at the very beginning of life to understand it. Religion, philosophy and science acknowledge that physical life had a beginning. Some believe that life evolved over millennia.
