The American Honey Tasting Society was founded in order to educate about the importance of preserving the diversity of our honey plants and to protect our honeybees. While there are many groups which advocate the importance of protecting our precious honeybees, this initiative also educates chefs, foodies and beekeepers about the culinary and health benefits as well through educational honey tastings. The organization was founded by honeybee expert, Marina Marchese who is a bestselling author, honeybee expert and authority on honey. Marina strongly believes in education and has also launched a series of educational Honey Tasting Laboratory Workshops to bring awareness to specific endangered honey plants named by Slow Foods the Ark of Taste. These programs are being held at her Red Bee Apiary in Weston, CT throughout the summer.

In this special segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer will be joined by Marina Marchese, author of Honeybee: Lessons from an Accidental Beekeeper to discuss the importance of these beneficial plants as well as what you can do to protect our precious honeybees. Stay tuned!

Marina Marchese, is a true renaissance woman and is also an entrepreneur. From her love of honeybees, she discovered the medicinal benefits created by her beloved honeybees. She decided that this was something that needed to be shared with the world and launched Red Bee ® Artisanal Honey. Marina has created an entire line of skin care products that are derived from the honeybee. As a true lover and defender of honeybees, she also educates people about the many misconceptions about bees and why people need to embrace the power that these special beings offer.
