Can a job tell you what you can or cannot do outside of the job? Ok, the easy address is that you cannot come into work drunk or altered, potentially endangering your coworkers. But, how far does even this rule go? Can a job say that 12 hours prior to start time you cannot partake in any social entertainment that may affect your work performance? Can a job say, post contract, that you cannot participate in a club party because it may reflect poorly on our establishment. The classic quid pro quo says that ‘if you do for me then I will do for you’ does this not apply in this case. Can you punish a person on the job for what that person did off of the job? Lend your voice to this conversation and help us ‘Grow Your Greatness.’
The Move Crew Radio Show is in place to help you to be the best that you can be.
