Good morning, today on The Meter, we will remember the life of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen passed away this week ending her 70 years on the British Throne and being the longest serving monarch in history. Queen Elizabeth is mourned worldwide and was well known for her humanitarian outreach that stretched over the entire globe. The Queen hastened the decolonization of Africa and being the first British Monarch to 
visit Ireland and India after their independence from England in 1922 and 1947. The funeral for Queen Elizabeth II will be held on September 19th at Westminster Abbey. Her son Charles III is now the King. How do you remember Queen Elizabeth II? Today, marks the 21st anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington DC, and Shanksville, PA. 2,977 Americans died and more than 25,000 wounded on that day that changed America forever. The attacks led to American wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Patriot Act, and Department of Homeland Security. Where were you on September 11, 2001?
