I thought God had failed me! I thought God had failed my family! First success story:  My battle with depression after my mother was found dead in the home I grew up in as a child was devastating. It took many years for me to truly reconcile with myself and most importantly God. Turning my back on the church, it was a challenge for me to find a way to put together an effective plan to lift myself out of a low place for approximately a 12 year span of time.  I was simply going through the motions of life.  One day I made a decision for myself.  I started to no longer allow myself to remember only the hurt and the pain of how my mother died.  I started to celebrate how my mother lived. I remembered how active she was in the church.  How she helped to nurture herself as a musician. And, how she brought out the gifts in her children as well as others.  Then, I asked myself a simply question; How would my mother want me to go on living out her legacy today? After decades of worship, dedication, attending the church 5-6 days a week. My sweet, evangelistic mother was found dead. God had some serious explaining to do at that time. My mother, the Evangelist, had left the church after her husband of 26 years passed away. And, so would I too for a short period of time, when my dear Evangelistic mother had passed away. I thought God had failed me! I thought God had failed my family! However, God had another plan for my life. After complete healing and deliverance from depression, grief, along with a wounded soul. I stood up triumphantly. God showed me that I needed to reconcile with myself, my very own inner-being. I needed to come to the cross. At the cross is where God showed me that the child of clergy for 30 PLUS YEARS has a story to tell. I will walk through every step of why I felt that my mother could have been saved, had she not used the church as a drug. I feel that many are using the church as a drug.
