The featured guest on this week's program will be John Young, CEO of Consumerdriven and a key advisor to The Institute for HealthCare Consumerism, who will talk about how marketplace noise may be the best thing to happen to consumer-driven health care. Consumer-driven health care strategies are clearly the leading course of action taken by employers today; we’ve hit the bona fide tipping point as predicted, and as hoped. And yet, many executions aren’t best practices; many discordant voices say they are private exchanges; too often consumer-driven health care means “cost shifting” to stakeholders, i.e. consumer-driven health care means I have to pay more. That was never the vision. And all this is happening during a time of urgency to help people become more literate and confident in navigating health care. This is an opportunity.
