On this week's program, hosts Andrew Dietz, Doug Field and Ron Bachman will first discuss recent innovation around health care access, specifically direct primary care and telehealth. Then the conversation will move to private exchanges and the launch of the broker-focused Welltheos platform by Softheon.

The first guest will be Dr. Samir Qamar, who will discuss how employers can benefit from direct primary care and new telemedicine tech. As the founder and CEO of both MedWand and MedLion, Dr. Qamar is one of the true leaders in improving how Americans access health care. This conversation will start with new developments that can benefit employers in light of new health care laws, specifically the growth of direct primary care. Then Dr. Qamar and the hosts will examine the emergence of a new telemedicine technology that enables real-time physical exams to telemedicine appointments, keeping employees on the job more often.

For the second segment, the hosts will welcome Dan Hughes, business development manager for broker solutions at Softheon, to introduce Welltheos. With 2016 open enrollment days away, Softheon has launched it’s Web-Based Entity product called Welltheos. Welltheos brings a platform completely free of charge to brokers and agencies, so they can enroll their subsidy-eligible membership in one place. Welltheos brings more than 32,000 Qualified Health Plan products from 249 carriers within one site.
