Please join Frankie Picasso, host of The Good Radio Network on Thursday, July 23rd at 1:00 pm EST,when her guest is author Rachelle Dekker, daughter of  New York Times author ,Ted Dekker.

Rachelle has not only inherited her looks from her Dad but also his talent. In her debut novel, The Choosing, Rachelle has created a dystopian society that follows a strict code of behaviour. We follow a young woman Carrington Hale as she prepares for her Choosing Ceremony, an event where young ladies are chosen to become wives. The girls spend their entire childhood preparing for this day because all of their worth as an individual, a member of society, and a women is tied to being CHOSEN as a bride. When the unthinkable happens and beautiful Carrington is passed over, life swiftly changes for her. She is no longer the respected daughter of a good family but a LINT, the lowest form of society.  She is quickly whisked away from her family and all things familiar to  live with the other LINTS under guard in a downtown dormitory. Her days are  spent in menial labor learning how to work for the greater good, until two things happen. Carrington is offered a second chance to become a wife, and she meets someone whose revolutionary thoughts makes her question her own beliefs.

This powerful novel is a fantastic vehicle for woman to encourage conversations about worth, body image, self esteem , and God. We will be doing that together on AIR. If you would like to join the conversation please call into to the show. The number is 1 (845) 241-9943
