Founded in 2011 in Washington, DC, the ORIGINAL Black Wall Street SERIES celebrates black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race. Honorees receive the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award. To date, Bmorenews.com has honored hundreds in 5 US cities: New York, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Atlanta and New Orleans. The series was designed to pay homage to Black Wall Street TULSA which was bombed and burned to the ground in 1921. Sadly, over 600 black businesses were destroyed.
