This class will analyze U.S. History primarily from the African American perspective beginning in 1865 with '40 Acres and a Mule', the end of the Civil War and the 13th Amendment.  We'll look at The Reconstruction Era (1865-1877), The Red Summer of 1919, The Jim Crow Era, World War I, The Great Migration, World II, The Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Movement to get a better understanding of how we get to where we are now and where do we go from here.
