Today, the Jazzy Vegetarian, chats with Michéal Castaldo , owner of the NYC Olive Oil Coop. We’ll discuss some fascinating facts about olive oil and share thoughts for using this healthful and delectable oil in various recipes. Special guest: Crooner, composer and connoisseur, Michéal Castaldo, also founded the New York City Olive Oil Coop in 2004. Mr. Castaldo imports estate quality, gourmet, extra virgin olive oil direct from his family’s orchard in Calabria, Italy. As a singer, he is celebrating the launch of his new CD, “Aceto” on Vital Records. With an album release date set for late spring, the classic bitter-suite, soulful Italian songs, embrace the themes of grace, healing, remembrance and therapy. This new CD of classic Italian songs is in the style of Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo and Josh Groban, and honors Castaldo’s late Dad. He is also currently celebrating the debut of his new music video, "Guarda Questa Terra." Michael graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and originally moved to New York City as a session singer. As an Italian entrepreneur and entertainer, Micheal Castaldo has cultivated his many fortés, leading him to where he is today, with many fruitful enterprises.
