In the era of Black Lives Matter, we are asking, Does Black History Really Matter?

Zhana is joined by Brother Tony Warner, founder of London Black History Walks, who have hosted Black history walks, talks and films for many years.

London Black History Walks are also one of the planners and co-ordinators of African Odysseys film programme which has held films at the British Film Institute (BFI) for more than 13 years.

We will discuss:

  • Are people in the UK aware of Black history in Britain, the United States and elsewhere?
  • And are African Americans aware of Black British history?
  • What has been the contribution of Black women to Black history?
  • How have Black women been represented in history and in film?
  • African Odysseys films - how and why did they come into being, and what is the significance of this ongoing series?

We invite you to join us.

Go here for loads of Black history blogs by Zhana.

Zhana's Coronavirus Resources include Black history quizzes for all the family.

After a 30-minute break, we will return with the second half of this programme, where we will continue our discussion on "How Can We Create a Peaceful World?".
