One Eye Witness: Breaking the Silence After Domestic Violence is the title of her new book, Yolanda Carter!

Yolanda Carter was a mother of five and led a normal life as a personal assistant for the Department of Health and Human Services in Chicago. Recently out of a long-term relationship, she vowed that she would remain single to continue enjoying her life with friends and family in the upscale community of Hyde Park. The unexpected death of a friend would become the starting point of a long, dark road that would end in tragedy.

One Eye Witness is the true account of Yolanda Carter, the survivor of a near-fatal domestic violence incident at the hands of her live-in partner. Through her story, Yolanda hopes to raise awareness about the many types of domestic violence and ultimately save the lives of victims who feel they are unable to get out.

With a companion guide that includes definitions, examples, and a section to journal their experiences, One Eye Witness will help victims determine if they are in a domestic violence relationship. Also provided in this volume are resources geared toward aiding victims in seeking help and a section dedicated to educate abusers on the subject of domestic violence. It is our hope that you will utilize this book to transform yourself from victim to survivor, and also to help others while on their journey to finding freedom from abuse.
