Peter Lemesurier, a former Cambridge linguist and
professional translator, and widely regarded as the world’s
leading English-language Nostradamus expert, is the author
of numerous works dedicated to solving the world’s great
He has written some ten books on Nostradamus, including
the best-selling Nostradamus Encyclopedia of 1997 and the
authoritative The Unknown Nostradamus and Nostradamus: The
Illustrated Prophecies of 2003. His books have been translated
into some dozen languages, and a Google search yields some 18,000 references to him and
his work. Born in 1936, and a Cambridge MA in Modern and Mediaeval Languages, he has
enjoyed a varied experience of life as a professional musician, teacher, translator, author,
trimaraner and jet pilot.
He has been invited as a repeat guest by the town of Salon-de-Provence (Nostradamus'
hometown) to lecture in French on the seer, and has officially researched and appeared in
numerous TV films and radio programs, including productions by the Discovery Channel, the
History Channel, the National Geographic Channel and UK’s Channel 4. He is also an
established editor of the English, French and German Wikipedia articles on Nostradamus.
