Spirituality is a very personal experience. For some people it has nothing to do with religion, it is how one views their life as well as how they live their life. Donna (Edmonds) Mitchell is our special guest and we will discuss her personal views on spirituality and connecting to the Ancestral root as well as her creative process for writing poetry and art. Donna is a Southeastern New England American Indian of Wampanoag, Cherokee and African descent residing on her maternal ancestral lands of Watuppa Reservation in Fall River, Massachusetts. Known amongst her peoples as Words in the Wind, with translation in the Algonquian language as Minoweh Ikidowin (Cloud in the Wind). She is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University with a degree in Business Administration and a graduate of Bryant College’s Human Resources Certificate Program. Donna Edmonds Mitchell is a poet, writer, storyteller, actress and visual artist and is committed to her Southeastern New England aboriginal communities. She is dedicated to researching and connecting the historical roots of her American Indian and African American ancestries by giving voice and honor to her ancestors through the sharing of her own personal life stories with original works of poetry and short stories.
