Over the weekend, David and Jeff were honored to talk to Christian singer/songwriter/musician John Wayne Bailey, who is based out of Atlanta, GA. Tonight, they will share their interview with John, as he gives an unflenching look at his rise and fall in the early 2000s Atlanta rock scene. He will also tell of his rebirth, as he speaks of his undying faith and how it lifted him out of the abyss. John also gives the listeners a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into being a modern-day recording artist.
Three of John's latest songs will be featured during the program.
Stetson University honored T. Wayne Bailey, Ph.D., to mark his 50th year of teaching at the university. Bailey started teaching at Stetson in 1963 and since that time has taught nearly every political science course ever offered at Stetson. Bailey, who is one of the founders of Stetson’s Model U.S. Senate and the annual International Symposium, has served as director of the Washington Semester at American University program and he chaired and continues to serve on the Pre-Law Advisory Committee at Stetson.
As part of the celebration of Dr. Bailey, Stetson alumnus George C. Edwards III presented “Explaining Leadership in the Obama Presidency,” and this presentation is provided here. Edwards is University Distinguished Professor of Political Science and Jordan Chair in Presidential Studies at Texas A&M University.
Many of Bailey’s former students have gone on to serve in state legislature and congressional positions, including former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland, a 1964 Stetson graduate, and at least three alumni currently serving in the Florida Legislature. Dr. Bailey is well known for volunteering his expertise for local, state and national groups. He has held various leadership positions in the Florida Democratic Party and was a Florida delegate to the Democratic National Convention from 1972 to 2012, attending 10 National Conventions. He has done extensive work with local government – cities and counties – upgrading their charters and reforming their governments.

Many times I have mentioned in newsletters or on the air that no book has changed my life more than "Disappearance of the Universe." Famous author and teacher Wayne Dyer says, "a book that is destined to be one of the most significant contributions to the spiritual literature of this century. The message in Gary Renards, "Disappearance of the Universe" is of great importance to the healing of ourselves and our planet." Join Gary and I as we discuss these ever important issues.
This podcast won't be pretty, folks. Things are starting to breakdown in round 2 as Tampa is showing themselves to be far more experienced and problematic than the Florida Panthers. But, are the NY Islanders really just beating themselves? Yes they are. Listen in as we sound off and discuss with Tampa Bay Lightning writer, Mike Corcoran, and later with our own analytics wizard, Broadway Jay.
We will take call-ins, time-willing.
Today's guest is writer Desiree Cooper author of the new book "Know the Mother."
A 2015 Kresge Artist Fellow, Desiree Cooper is a former attorney, Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist and Detroit community activist whose fiction dives unflinchingly into the intersection of racism and sexism.
