TGIF Show Civil Chat with Lee looks at abortion, pre-Roe vs Wade, Reagan/Trump

    in Current Events

One of the most pressing divisive issues in our country today is legalized abortion. Whether Democrat or Republican, Americans have strong opinions on this very controversial topic. Lee looks at the comparison made by Donald Trump to former President Reagan on the subject. Lee analyzes the comparison Trump makes and presents the positions of both Trump and former President Regan. Is Trump TRULY like President Reagan in his views on abortion and other jugular topics, or is this business as usual for Trump saying whatever he needs to pander to his base? Lee also looks at the inception of legalized abortion reading a letter by former President Reagan on the tenth anniversary of Roe vs Wade. Is it fair to assume that all progressives support abortion and the act of terminating human life of the fetus? This very serious subject is the main topic of today's show along with a host of other trending events in our country and world. Tune in and listen or call Civil Chat with Lee. Ronald Reagan & Oliver North committed more war crimes than 23 emails

    in Military

Trading arms for hostages and shredding federal documents is much more serious than hiding 23 emails.

Ronald Reagan's efforts to eradicate Communism spanned the globe, but the insurgent Contras' cause in Nicaragua was particularly dear to him. Battling the Cuban-backed Sandinistas, the Contras were, according to Reagan, "the moral equivalent of our Founding Fathers." Under the so-called Reagan Doctrine, the CIA trained and assisted this and other anti-Communist insurgencies worldwide.

    Oliver North

Assisting involved supplying financial support, a difficult task politically after the Democratic sweep of congressional elections in November 1982. First Democrats passed the Boland Amendment, which restricted CIA and Department of Defense operations in Nicaragua specifically; in 1984, a strengthened Boland Amendment made support almost impossible. A determined, unyielding Reagan told National Security Adviser Robert McFarlane, "I want you to do whatever you have to do to help these people keep body and soul together."

What followed would alter the public's perception of the president dramatically. How "Iran" and "Contra" came to be said in the same breath was the result of complicated covert activities, all carried out, the players said, in the name of democracy.

    in Politics Conservative

North Korea not quite ready to wipe out the U.S., while Iran taunts us with a flurry of illegal missile launches; The Apple doesn't fall from the tree, no matter how hard the feds shake it; ObamaCare's death spiral; The end of Christian America took place years ago, and the WaPo is just noticing it; Actual State sovereignty movement gestating?; Obamunist Left lunging toward their endgame?; Is the Islamic State about to attack Washington, D.C.?; and Marco Rubio's presidential bid is finished, but not in time to save Ted Cruz's.

The race between electing and indicting Hillary Clinton - and would she ever quit the race in either instance?; Last night's #BlackLivesMatter attack on a Trump rally was not primarily about Trump, but he and his witless dupes did have a hand in it, and it is symptomatic of their ongoing destruction of the GOP; Militia movement's attempts to cast foolishly extra-legal anti-government tactics as "martyrdom" unconvincing; and the Gipper welcomes his soulmate home.
