The Branding Buzz: Better Brand, Better Business!

    in Business

Join us today for Women Lead Radio, as Deanna Potter, your host of Sassy Sales & Biz Development, interviews Susan Bateman, Founder and Owner of BrandAwaken.

With nearly 20 years of industry experience, she brings the creative process together with structure and purpose to help clients breathe fresh life into tired brands, using a unique BrandAwaken™ process.  Susan will share with us her experience, techniques, and philosophy on the critical difference between branding vs. marketing and how to maximize business based strategies that will give new life to your business!

What does a logo say about a business?  Do the colors really matter that much when promoting a product or service?  What comes first branding or marketing? And aren’t they really the same thing? No! No! No! They are not the same and every one of these questions, and the answers to them, can critically impact the success or failure of a business.  Too often businesses don’t understand the power of their brand and all that it entails.  And if you don’t get it right, you can confuse your customers and find yourself facing expensive re-designs or complete financial failure! Don’t let this happen to you.

Deanna Potter is your host of Sassy Sales and Business Development, a show focused on down and dirty conversations from real women on real challenges in how to sell. As a woman business owner for the last 15 years, Deanna has delivered stellar sales results over the course of three downward markets.

Part 2 of Jeff Mach: Creator of The Steampunk World’s Fair

    in Radio

Part 2 of our conversation with Jeff Mack -- There’s nothing ordinary about Steampunk. It’s a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. It may also incorporate additional elements from the genres of fantasy, horror, historical fiction, alternate history, or other branches of speculative fiction, making it often a hybrid genre. And Jeff Mach, the creator of the world’s largest Steampunk World’s Fair, has put all of this together into one huge event that attracts people of all ages on May 13-15. Like all events, there is food, vendors, and entertainment, but definitely not your typical offerings. According to Jeff, Steampunk is “a bunch of stuff people do that’s vaguely inspired by mad science in a world that bears some sort of resemblance to the Victorian era.” I anticipate seeing costumes with mechanical workings, ornate engraving, and lots of goggles. What we now call “Steampunk” has existed in some manner for quite a long time; but it’s only recently that Steampunk’s started coming together as some kind of coherent social phenomenon. Jeff’s heart was captured at thirteen by The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He was fascinated by how much you could change the ordinary world of a movie theatre, and create a strange, wonderful new home for people whose interests were outside the norm. He’s dedicated his life to creating those places. After the interview, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.

According to Jeff, Steampunk is “a bunch of stuff people do that’s vaguely inspired by mad science in a world that bears some sort of resemblance to the Victorian era.” I anticipate seeing costumes with mechanical workings, ornate engraving, and lots of goggles. And as far as the dress code goes, at The Steampunk World’s Fair, you are welcome to wear whatever you want (as long as it won’t get you arrested for indecent exposure). What we now call Steampunk has existed in some manner for quite a long time; but it’s only recently that Steampunk’s started coming together as some kind of coherent social phenomenon. About Master Petra: My first profession is architecture and my professional aspiration and goal was to build healing rooms and facilities for people who needed medical care. For me, the house is like a third skin. The physical skin is of course the first one, followed by the clothes we wear, being our second skin, and then the house we live in as our third skin. Throughout my professional life, I had the following experience again and again: even if the best interior designs, biological constructions and materials were applied, people still did not recover or they became sick. Now, I am one of the World Wide Representatives of Master Sha. As a Divine Channel, I am responsible for the Divine Temples worldwide. I feel deeply blessed and honored to have received this wonderful gift and, as a Divine Servant and Channel, I offer my service with dedication to heal and transform rooms so people who are in these rooms can also heal and transform.

    The Virtuous Woman Mindset

    in Women

A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds. Her husband trusts her without reserve, and never has reason to regret it. Never spiteful, she treats him generously all her life long.  She shops around for the best yarns and cottons, and enjoys knitting and sewing.  She's like a trading ship that sails to faraway places and brings back exotic surprises.  She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast for her family and organizing her day.  She looks over a field and buys it, then, with money she's put aside, plants a garden.  First thing in the morning, she dresses for work, rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.  She senses the worth of her work, is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.  She's skilled in the crafts of home and hearth, diligent in homemaking.  She's quick to assist anyone in need, reaches out to help the poor.  She doesn't worry about her family when it snows; their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear.  She makes her own clothing, and dresses in colorful linens and silks.  Her husband is greatly respected when he deliberates with the city fathers. She designs gowns and sells them, brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops.  Her clothes are well-made and elegant, and she always faces tomorrow with a smile.  When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say.  She keeps an eye on everyone in her household, and keeps them all busy and productive.  Her children respect and bless her; her husband joins in with words of praise:  "Many women have done wonderful things, but you've outclassed them all!" Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades. The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.  Give her everything she deserves! Adorn and decorate her life with praises!
