ALC Crowd Radio: Dr. Richard Bedlack,MD, PhD, MS Duke University: ALS Reversals

    in Health

S2:E4 Dr. Richard Bedlack, MD will describe the ALS Reversals program in detail.  Once it starts, ALS almost always continues to progress, disable and shorten lives. Very rarely, a patient with a confirmed diagnosis of ALS gets better on validated ALS outcome measures.  It is worth studying these rare ALS reversals to try and replicate them in other patients.  Similar approaches are being employed in cancer.

Dr. Richard Bedlack, grew up in a small town in central Connecticut. He went to college at William and Mary in Virginia, then back to Connecticut for an MD and PhD in Neuroscience at UConn. Finally, he came to Duke where he completed his Medicine Internship, Neurology Residency, Neuromuscular Fellowship, and Masters in Clinical Research Science. He is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Medicine/Neurology at Duke, Director of the Duke ALS Clinic, and Chief of Neurology at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He has won awards for teaching and patient care, including best Neurology teacher at Duke, Health Care Hero, Strength Hope and Caring Award, America’s Best Doctor, the American Academy of Neurology Patient Advocate of the Year and the Rasmussen ALS Patient Advocate of the Year. He has received ALS research grants, participated in ALS clinical trials, published more than 60 ALS articles and recently edited a new book called ALS: A Patient Care Guide for Clinicians. He is the outgoing Chairman of the North American ALS Research Group (ALSRG) and leader of the international ALSUntangled program which utilizes social networking to investigate alternative and off label treatment options for patients with ALS. He lives in Durham, North Carolina with his wife Shelly and two mischievous kittens.

    Connecting The Dots-With Jason Gould

    in Entrepreneur

    Chiropractor

BSc (Hons), MChiro, (DC Doctor of Chiropractic)

Dr Jason Gould started his career with a degree in Pharmacology and soon realised that it was not the medications themselves that inspired him, but the reward of helping people and seeing them get better. As such, Jason chose to pursue Chiropractic as his career. He went on to graduate from the world-leading chiropractic college, AECC (Anglo European College of Chiropractic).

After working in a number of different clinics, Jason decided to set up an award-winning practice with his wife Tara in 2007 and they love to support the local community. He is an expert in looking after sports injuries and finds real pleasure in keeping players of golf, rugby, tennis, football, martial arts and many more sports in top form. After working in these areas, he has also looked after the England karate squad and is a member of the British Chiropractic Sports Council (BCSC).

Other than working with professional athletes, Jason’s clinic consists of patients of all ages from four days to 98 years old and also teaches at chiropractic colleges as a guest lecturer as well as teaching groups of professional chiropractors.

“If there’s one thing that I love most about the body is that we all have an incredible capacity for healing and repair and that by restoring movement and removing nerve interference through chiropractic, lifestyle advice and specific exercises, in many cases we can provide substantial relief from a number of painful conditions without risking the various side effects associated with taking medications or more invasive procedures.”

"THSI's Launches New Free Legal Clinic" on "A Cup of Joe"

    in Politics

The Human Solution International presents the new Self-help legal clinic!

Most people reaching out to The Human Solution's 501c3 are people that have been recently arrested and charged with crimes involving cannabis. They tend to be frightened, broke and naive regarding the looming nightmare.  finding pro bono help is rare and often disappointing. Public defenders are seldom willing or equipped to fight and so few cannabis cases actually go to trial that an expert  in the field with trial experience is very rare indeed. We have begun to create a revolutionary new solution. find about how it will work as well as several surprise guests that will be joining us for "A cup of Joe". Grab a fresh one and sit down and join us for this very important announcement on Coffee Party USA Radio.  Wednesday Night 8:00 PM EDT/5:00 PM PDT
