    Derby Moments on The Racing Biz radio: Keith Feustle

    in Sports

    They call the Kentucky Derby the most exciting two minutes in sports, and for many racing fans, it's certainly among the most memorable.  In this week's series of short Derby Moments podcasts, we'll visit with several racing folks for their fondest Kentucky Derby memories.  We'll meet:

    someone who cashed big when a horse narrowly avoided a serious fall;
    someone who tells you what it was like to be on the roof of the grandstand when Mine That Bird won the Derby at 50-1 odds;
    someone who parlayed his Kentucky Derby winnings into, of all things, a new dog;
    and more!

    In this episode: Keith Feustle, who is on the Equibase team that produces the official charts, talks about what it's like to call the chart while 20 horses turn for home and 160,000 fans lose their minds.

    Ice Cream For The Soul 'Yoga & Loving Life' with Juliette Noske

    in Spirituality

    This week Mark starts a series of chats with Yoga professionals starting with a chat with  Spain based Shivananda Yoga Teacher Juilette Noske

    Juliette is also the co creator of the International Yoga Day on the Costa Blanca Spain this coming June.

    Join Mark and Juliette as they discuss this most ancient of personal development systems, still around after 15 millenia simply because it works.

    Juliettes Bio

    Juliette first sampled yoga in 1996 in England.  She was then seduced by this ancient practice many years later in Thailand and India.  Though it wasn’t until 2005 that her dedicated relationship with yoga really began.  She returned to the UK, after five years of working and travelling abroad.  Greeted by the miserable weather and sad looking faces in London.  Whilst on the tube an advert for HOT yoga grabbed her attention and seemed the perfect thing to brighten up her existence and keep her physically fit.

    During these three years of intense hot yoga, practicing every day, she began to see changes in my physical body.  Having been told she needed to have an operation on her knees in her twenties, she surprised myself by running three marathons in succession.  Bikram yoga supported not only her physical training, but also the mental training that is necessary for completing a marathon.

    Over the years Juliette studied various types of Yoga and it transformed  her life and assisting her to stay young and fresh in both body and mind.  For her teacher training she chose to study with Shivananda Yoga Vedanta  and she had the privilege of successfully completing her training in the Himalayan Mountains of India, where the roots of yoga were born.

    Summer time? CrossFit Games are back!

    in Sports

    Sometimes I think that would be easier to write about baseball than to write about crossfit, but that will be a whole different blog (which probably I’ll keep in mind). But right now it is all about the second competition of the CrossFit Games, they were held in summer time of 2008, and they were at Dave parents’ ranch in Aroma, California.

    This time they gathered around 300 athletes competing in four challenging workouts. Big difference from last year, they went from 100 fans to 800 spectators, and they were better prepared for this competition, in other words the ideas were coming together of what they wanted to achieve.

    Wrestling 2 the MAX # 193 Pt 1: Do Casual Wrestling Fans Matter? & Ryback Issues

    in Wrestling

    Well, it has been a couple of days since WWE Payback 2016 and not a whole lot has happened. At least we do have a post-PPV RAW to cover and an update on when we could see Enzo Amore back on WWE TV as well.

    We also have an interesting article, which has created a topic for us, discussing if TV ratings and casual fans really matter so much in the short-term or the long-term for WWE. Do the ratings truly affect WWE’s thoughts as much as they used to? If they do, should they? Is WWE preparing for life without USA Network with the WWE Network? We discuss these questions and more.

    So, we start things with the last offering from WWE’s RAW

    We discuss a few things going on in the wrestling news in Quick Hits concerning a contract dispute for RyBack, Enzo’s impact test, and a few other notes.

    We finish things out with our topic about Casual Wrestling Fans and Ratings.

    ------------ Time Stamps ------------

    (6:15-43:15) WWE RAW
    (43:15-59:35) Chat with fan that was at RAW Live & Final Rating

    (59:35-1:09:19) Wrestling News: RyBack Contract Dispute, Enzo Amore Update

    (1:09:19-End) Special Topic: (Using an article written by Barry Hess over at Voices of Wrestling, which you can read here: http://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2016/04/29/why-casual-fans-and-ratings-dont-matter/) We discuss if the casual fans importance has diminished and along with it television ratings as well.

    Kelly OConnell Show: IN -- Trump Vanquishes Cruz

    in Politics

    It’s over, Ted Cruz is OUT. Well, you have to admit Ted gave it a helluva try. Especially for a guy who is essentially hated by almost everyone who’s ever know him. He won the first state Iowa under an ethical cloud. Teddy won other states but he never established the kind of national following he thought he deserved.

    The Cruz lovers across the board are besides themselves. For example, Mark Levin has stated, about Fox News Channel and Trump -- “ FNC a ‘Trump Super PAC,’ They’ll ‘Be Rubbing Their Own Faces In Their Own Feces’ After the General.” Apparently this is a deranged reference to Beck rubbing cheeto crumbs into his face to mock Trump.

    Glenn Beck, Teddy’s John the Baptist, has now established a new standard for self -aggrandizing, self-pitying, egotistical, narcissistic religious delusion. Outdoing himself, the talk show egomaniac stated, “"Huge Drudge Font Size" Mocking My Fast For Ted Cruz A Sign America Is "Done." In other words, daring to mock Beck, a member of a minority religion many call heretical is claiming that anyone who disses him is helping bring down the End Times. lol

    A bitter Teddy Bare, sent home to lick his wounds, lashed out in agony against his antagonist, sputtering about Trump that he is: “"This man is a pathological liar, he doesn't know the difference between truth and lies ... in a pattern that is straight out of a psychology text book, he accuses everyone of lying. Whatever lie he's telling, at that minute he believes it ... the man is utterly amoral. Donald is a bully ... bullies don't come from strength they come from weakness."

    So Cruz will live to run again another day, possibly. But now the Donald begins to whet his sword for the Clinton dynasty, with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. It’s going to be a rich banquet, sportsfans.
