    Common sense might say that you have a good chance of burning more fat in the morning, and there is some evidence to support those theories. For one, your levels of cortisol are higher in the morning, and cortisol is the hormone that helps to metabolize fat into energy. Your body wakes up a fat-burning machine, in other words. In addition, while you are asleep your body uses up the leftover carbohydrates that are still in your system, leaving you with very little except fat reserves for energy in the morning.


    According to BodyBuilder.com, there have been several studies conducted that show people can burn up to 20% more fat if they work out in the morning before consuming any food. Sounds primed to go, right? Unfortunately, that’s not the whole story.

    Vitamin D3 to the Rescue – Beyond the Label

    Before the year 2000, very few doctors ever considered the possibility that you might be vitamin D deficient, however, as the technology to measure vitamin D became inexpensive and widely available, more and more studies were done and it became increasingly clear that vitamin D deficiency was absolutely rampant.  Vitamin D deficiency is incredibly common in the US but many Americans mistakenly believe they aren't at risk because they consume vitamin-D-fortified foods (such as milk). There are very few foods that actually have therapeutic levels of vitamin D naturally and even fortified foods do not contain enough vitamin D to support your health needs


    Some signs that may indicate you are at risk of Vitamin D deficiency are: you have darker skin, you feel “blue,” you are 50 or older, you are overweight/obese/have a higher muscle mass, your bones ache, you have a sweaty head, and/or you have Gut trouble.  A new study has found that an insufficient level of vitamin D in older adults doubles the risk of Alzheimer ’s disease. But it’s not just older folks who aren’t getting enough of the sunshine vitamin; most kids don’t get sufficient amounts either.
