Adorable Scoundrels, Now they’re a book!
You’ll recognize your own toddlers (past or present) in the charming illustrations of Susan Robinson, who has two 3-year-olds of her own, and in the truth-telling verses of author, poet, and playwright Howard Eisenberg who met them first as toddlers of his own and of his much beloved late wife Arlene, who co-wrote the parenting bible, What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
Arlene, and the hundreds of toddlers he met with her, became Howard’s inspiration for a treasury of charming Adorable Scoundrel poems that make you smile when you feel like crying. After hearing them at Arlene’s lectures parents would ask, “Where can I get the book?” There was no book then, but there is now.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Tubman, an African-American and a Union spy (or was she ) during the Civil War, would bump Jackson — a white man known as much for his persecution of Native Americans as for his war heroics and advocacy for the common man — to the back of the $20, in some reduced image along with the White House. Tubman would be the first woman so honored on paper currency since Martha Washington’s portrait briefly graced the $1 silver certificate in the late 19th century. While Hamilton would remain on the $10, and Abraham Lincoln on the $5, images of women would be added to the back of both — in keeping with Mr. Lew’s intent “to bring to life” the national monuments depicted there. The picture of the Treasury building on the back of the $10 bill would be replaced with a depiction of a 1913 march in support of women’s right to vote that ended at the building, along with portraits of five suffrage leaders: Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Susan B. Anthony, who in more recent years was on an unpopular $1 coin until minting ceased. How do we really feel about it?

Tonight's special guest is Elizabeth Cucinotta Sorvillo, an attorney, author, mother, and advocate for children, child sex abuse survivors and animals. Elizabeth is the author of "Controlled Burn: Exposing Child Sex Abuse and Corruption at America's Largest Private Catholic High School," a detailed account of how two women, sexually harassed by their teachers at the same Franciscan educational institution twenty years apart, came together to expose the hypocrisy and systematic corruption that shielded decades of child sexual abuse and abusers from the public. Elizabeth has been named to the list of Catholic clergy abuse whistleblowers by BishopAccountability.org and consulted for the top school sexual abuse attorneys in the United States. She has provided critical information to private investigators, and several state departments of education and Catholic dioceses. She is currently consulting on several school related sexual assault and harassment cases, as well as working on investigations regarding multi-state corporate scams. Elizabeth has over twelve years of experience in the media and has been interviewed in The New York Times, The Journal News, New York Daily News, The Times of Israel, and The Nonprofit Quarterly. She has appeared on WNBC New York, Fox News, News 12 Westchester, New York 1, and in documentaries produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Her LinkedIn profile says the following, "I am an advocate, through and through and through. If you need help, contact me here by messaging me on this page. Into protecting children and animals.
