FHS’ Race Trim MotorSports Hour #50

    in Sports

If last week was “The Smoke Show”, this is “The JGR Hour”. We’ve talked all season about the dominance of Joe Gibbs Racing and it continues today coming out of Richmond.

Carl Edwards did the unthinkable last week bumping his own teammate Kyle Busch in the last final half lap to win his second-in-a-row. Is that “just racing”, or is there an “unwritten rule” someplace? How much does this create a teammate rift, and are we seeing a new more aggressive Carl Edwards this season?

Tony Stewart returned last week exactly as Sidekick predicted – good enough for us to all complain that he sucks. BUT, his “lug nuts rant” got NASCAR attention as they addressed the rules. Is anyone really surprised by that?

But man oh man, to be a fly-on-the-wall at Friday night’s Driver’s Council meeting where Brian France showed up unexpectedly and apparently, left it lively.

Today we’re at Talladega – one of Frat House Mike’s favorites, a superspeedway – and we’ll be giving our thoughts on outcomes and “Big Ones” here; plus an NHRA update at #6 in Houston Texas; Sidekick’s got some Fantasy NASCAR recommendations; and, it’s getting VERY competitive on the Frat House Sports’ Eat-My-Dust Winners Pick leaderboard particularly after last week.

Tune-in to THE BEST pre-race sports talk show with Frat House Mike, Sidekick, Brandon, and YOUR calls at 347 – 826 – 9964. Check in to the Frat House Sports Garage - 11 a.m. ET!

The Logic of Islam with Dr. Carl Goldberg

    in Politics Conservative

Today, we will discuss Sharia law – its nature and its contents, based on the most popular manual of Sharia law, “Reliance of the Traveler”. You will learn why Sharia law is mandatory for Moslems and why it is incompatible with any non-Islamic system including the American Constitution.

Sharia law's totalitarian nature is well expressed in the following statement by an Islamic religious scholar:

Islam is a religion, but not in the western meaning of religion. The western connotation of the term "religion" is something between the believer and God. Islam as a religion organizes all aspects of life on both the individual and national levels. Islam organizes your relations with God, with yourself, with your children, with your relatives, with your neighbor, with your guest, and with other brethren. Islam clearly establishes your duties and rights in all those relationships. Islam establishes a clear system of worship, civil rights, laws of marriage and divorce, laws of inheritance, code of behavior, what not to drink, what to wear, and what not to wear, how to worship God, how to govern, the laws of war and peace, when to go to war, when to make peace, the law of economics, and the laws of buying and selling.

Islam is a complete code of life.

Islam is the Koran + Muhammad, which form the basis of Sharia law. Therefore, there is no practice of Islam without Sharia law which is considered Allah's law.

Where does new pop come from? We talk to a rock school and an opera singer.

    in Music

Since we focus on emerging artists at Music Friday Live!, we thought we would take a look at a prime source of those artists nationally, right here in Los Angeles, the Paramount Academy of Music. Paramount teaches playing and recording all genres of  popular music – rock to jazz - with nationally known artists who record and play with headliners offer not only technique but music biz lessons and maybe a few connections.  Music Director Carl Restivo who wrote and recorded with Wyclef Jean, and founding CEO Marisa Gariano will join us.

Sin Color is a South Los Angeles -based band that transforms traditional styles of music into pop soundscapes. Driven by the opera-trained voice of lead singer Crisia Regalado and the amazing guitar chops of David Aquino , the band mixes  bossa nova, cumbia, and disco with indie pop into danceable beats and memorable hooks. They have played the major clubs in LA, been on NPR and are poised to move on to the next level.
