Carlos Malcolm was born in Panama 1935 to Jamaican parents and grew up in Kingston. His father, Wilfred Malcolm, went to Panama and worked as a bookkeeper in the Panama Canal Zone. He became a prominent business man in the city of Colon, established homes in both countries and sent his five children back to Jamaica to be educated. Having studied the liturgy and music of the Anglican (Episcopalian) Church, Wilfred Malcolm was an Anglican church choir director for many years. He also played trombone in the "Jazz Aristocrats", a Panamanian Dixieland band for which he was manager, and he took the band to Jamaica in 1936
This probably accounts for Carlos's notoriety among peers as a "musical chameleon" because he arranges music and functions comfortably in a variety of musical cultures and genres. His father and a few prominent West Indian businessmen in Panama formed a committee that brought to Panama world-class Black American artists in the performing arts. As a child, Carlos recalls listening from the bedroom to conversations and laughter from guests, including celebrated artistsPaul Robeson (baritone), Marian Anderson (contralto), Hazel Scott–Powell (wife of Adam Clayton Powell Jr., of Abyssinia Baptist Church of Harlem) as they came to late dinners after recitals at a local theatre.
Carlos's father taught him to play the trombone. He also recognised Carlos's natural gift for creating and arranging music and supported his son's desire to pursue an education in the arts. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Union Institute and University of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Why Can't I Meditate? How to get your mindfulness practice on track with Nigel Wellings
Meditation is supposed to be a practice that's relaxing and beneficial...so why is it so hard to commit to? While many people have taken workshops in meditation, a significant number don't maintain their practice for long after the class is finished.
Mindfulness can help us relax and is great for coming to grips with thoughts that make us depressed or anxious, but it can also bring us into a more intimate relationship with ourselves--a prospect that can make some feel uncomfortable. Yes, lots of good things come out of meditation practice, but keeping it up is challenging.
This is where Why Can't I Meditate? comes in. Full of practical ways to help our mindfulness practice flourish, this book also features guidance from a wide spectrum of secular and Buddhist mindfulness teachers, and personal accounts by new meditators on what they find difficult and what helps them overcome those blocks.
Nigel Wellings is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist who has been teaching and writing about the relationship between psychotherapy and Buddhism for the last sixteen years. Christine Corda is a Psychic Medium and a good one.
God gave her these gifts though as a small child Christine lived in a haunted home with abusive parents.
Both of whom dabbled in the occult. Abuse and dark spirituality do not mix and this created a perfect storm to allow and even encourage negative entities to attack and take hold.
For 6 long years as a child and teen she lived in the basement of that home.
Alone and haunted.
The results were horrific the hauntings went on for years.
The teaching and empowement were incredible.
What is the lesson here?
A: God is amazing and DOES bring us through the darkness....no matter what we are living in.
God heals and strengthnes even through the most terrible of places.
There were human spirits, inhuman spirits and many situations of demonic oppression infestation at which time Christine was nearly fully possessed.
With a formal exorcism botched abandoned by the Roman Catholic Church Christine had nothing left to use to help her but her gifts.
Hers is a scary story a sad story a courageous story but it is above all an enlightening story and one of hope and goodness inspite of the darkness God has led her to light to empowerment and now she helps others who go through hauntings.
Join us as Christine explores different accounts of hauntings.
Come with Episodes of demonic posession and opression. Prayers that work and prayers that do not.
Different ways that people of many different faiths work to free the world from negative energies and entites.
We will have many different guest and many different subjects and hope you will join us!

Mr. Enlightenment, whose real name is Joey Tucker, was born on July 8, 1981 in the small town of Walterboro, South Carolina. Growing up, Joey never had the desire to write poetry but sometimes he would freestyle with his friends for fun. It would be about four more years before he actually wrote his first poem.
After graduating from Walterboro High School in 1999, Joey went on to attend Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. While taking a poetry class during his senior year in college, Joey’s interest in the art form was sparked. At that point he knew poetry was an art he needed to explore.
After graduating from college in 2004, Joey moved to Charleston, South Carolina and started his career as a fourth grade language arts teacher. Though he pushes for more involvement from parents and less emphasis on standardized testing Joey enjoys teaching because it allows him to make an impression on a child that lasts forever.
The name Mr. Enlightenment acknowledges both the fact that he is a teacher and the fact that he uses his poetry as a way to shine light with his lines and words. With the help of Christopher K.P. Brown (2 Pens and Lint), Mr. Enlightenment released his first project, Walletz & Pursez, in June 2009. His second release, L.I.G.H.T., was released early August 2010.
In December 2015, Mr. Enlightenment released his first poetry cd, Worth My Weight In Watts. You can find Mr. Enlightenment performing at different venues in Charleston, SC and interacting with readers via his Facebook and Twitter accounts.
