Guests: Doug Amos, Business Development Manager, Solutions Marketing, Synopsys Inc., Rene Richter, Corporate Application Engineering Manager, Synopsys Inc., and Austin Lesea, Principal Engineer, Xilinx FPGA-based prototyping has been with us for about as long as we’ve had FPGAs. Many people have been very successful in its use for creating fast and accurate pre-silicon platforms. However, we all do it differently, and each project usually requires some on-the-spot invention to address new SoC and ASIC design challenges. Austin Lesea of Xilinx, and Doug Amos, and René Richter of Synopsys, all experienced FPGA and prototyping fans, will be in conversation to explain more about FPGA-based prototyping and its importance for SoC and embedded software verification. They will be highlighting some of the best-practices gathered from their own experiences and those of other leading practitioners worldwide, and explaining how the most important of these have been distilled into a set of guidelines that they call Design-for-Prototyping. To listen or participate, call 1 (877) 439-2972 within the US [international callers dial +1 (646) 200-4379] when the show begins at 12:30 Pacific.
