All throughout his life he has had to deal with the loss of friends and family members, his most traumatic experience of losing a love one was when his cousin got violently hit by a car as he walked acrossed the street.
The trauma of losing his cousin led to Javier not trusting society and having a fear and disdain for cars.
Javier story is unique, it gives us a glipse into the day to day life of a young person dealing with trauma in the Watts community. His story also speaks to the tenacity that it takes to cope and deal with the aftermath of losing a love one.
