We're gonna married, but not until....We're gonna give you that raise and promotion. Just keep working hard....

If someone promised you that you were going to win the big lottery, if you just play on these days, would you believe them?

You wouldn't accept that as a promise that they couild deliver right? Why do we accept promises that we know people can deliver, but put it off?

By the way, what constitutes a promise to you? Do they have to say the word promise, or guarantee in order to qualify it as a promise?
