How we navigate that experience to where we are today in our faith journey often looks very different from where we started.  This does not mean that we have done away with our childhood faith, experiences or religious upbringing, but rather to begin to discuss and share how that faith journey has shaped us into what we now idenfiy with as faith. Where has faith taken you?  Where has faith deterred you? What molds your faith?  How can we as women connect with other women to hear our faith stories outside the context of church?   This week Taylor Edwards will share her faith journey on HerStory.  She will share how her faith journey has been one filled with steps towards becoming the person God has created her to be while aiming to 'consistently' show love and compassion toward herselft and others along the way. Taylor will delight and motivate you.  She has a deep love for people and relationships.  It shows!  Join us this week as we talk, walk and learn from each others faith expression. Where has faith taken you?  Where has faith deterred you? What molds your faith?  How can we as women connect with other women to hear our faith stories outside the context of church?   This week Rev. Suzanne Castle, Pastor of Worship and Arts at Univeristy Christian Church in Forth Worth, Texas will share HerStory.  She started her journey at a Depeche Mode concert in 1993 in Dallas, TX. It was there, in Reunion Arena in which I had my most spiritual experience to date. The song ended, but the voices continued.... "My own... personal... Jesus." It was hauntingly beautiful, and I was struck in that moment how a generation of people was spiritually seeking something not found between pews on the main street. I was sad, exhilirated and mission-given in those minutes when I found myself waving my arms, chanting along with the other 50,000+ others, my new worshipping community. How disappointing to return to my church in which I felt most Sundays were comprimised by the greatest monetary donors.  The lack of hte presence of Christ was appalling. And yet, no one dared suggest we might bring fabric, candles, or ancient art into the space to communicate anew how lives have been and will continue to be changed by this very real, very personal Jesus-- "Someone who cares." Share HerStory this week. 00:19:00StudioG San DiegonoRev Suzanne Castle,Seeking the Sacred,Jesus,TheTable,Worship and ArtFrom our first prayers, to baptism, to learning how to 'be' in a church service, we all have some kind of experience that we could talk about or relate to whenHerStory: Courtney Richards, people who've taught her - by showing her.http://www.blogtalkradio.com/studiog/2014/01/30/herstory-courtney-richards-people-whove-taught-her--by-showing-herWomenhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/studiog/2014/01/30/herstory-courtney-richards-people-whove-taught-her--by-showing-her/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/studiog/2014/01/30/herstory-courtney-richards-people-whove-taught-her--by-showing-herThu, 30 Jan 2014 17:00:00 GMTHerStory: Courtney Richards, people who've taught her - by showing her. From our first prayers, to baptism, to learning how to 'be' in a church service, we all have some kind of experience that we could talk about or relate to when it comes to church.
