The media is discussing the causes of the U.S. life expectancy drop as due to the increase in death by suicide, drug and opioid overdose, diabetes, etc. But they are ignoring the underlying causes, which I explain in The Boy Crisis, as:

Death by Gender. Specifically, Death by being male: Among African-Americans, the death rates of males is 49% higher than females; among Caucasians, 38% higher among males than females; and among Hispanics, 46% higher by males than females.
