I have this duty not for anything I have done, but because of what I know.  I am not a prophet.  However, I know from experience we Catholics must be on guard and protect each other from the evil around us. Welcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. The show is Monday through Friday sometime between 8PM and 10PM. I am a member of the laity; I created this show to have a Catholic perspective and presence on Blog Talk Radio. Who is our worst Enemy? Who prevents us from the Grace of the Lord? Who is in control of our salvation? The readings for today focus on defining our mortal obstacles to the Grace of the Lord. In The Gospel of Luke, Jesus responds and identifies who our worst enemy is and how we are to overcome the mortal obstacle. In his Letter to the Romans, Paul further clarifies and emphasizes what the Gospel of Luke has defined. Listen to find the answer. 00:30:00StudentofTheChurchnoLuke,Paul,Soul,Sin,BodyWelcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. The show is Monday through Friday sometime between 8PM and 10PM. The purpose of this show is to provide a Catholic perspective on Blog Talk. I am a member of the laity and I both hope to provide a unique interpretation to the Daily Readings as well as an interpretation within the Catholic Catechism Today's Readings focus on a very famous and misunderstood line, “Do you think I have come to establish peace on Earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.” Today, I will explore the meaning of that line in Catholic Context as well as the reading of Paul. Today, Paul complements the Gospel reading by exactly describing along what lines does God divide and why. So, listen to find the answers! 00:29:00StudentofTheChurchnoLuke,Paul,Divide,Peace,FireWelcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. Welcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. This show is Monday through Friday sometime between 8PM and 10PM. I am a member of the laity whose only desire is to provide a Catholic Perspective on Blog Talk Radio. While I hope for my interpretation to be unique, I also hope for my interpretation to be within the Catholic Catechism. In Today's reading the question is asked: What is required of us? The Gospel of Luke in today's reading makes it very clear to us, Catholics, there is a degree of responsibility to which each of us is held. This responsibility varies by our understanding and our position in the church. From the Pope to the humble member, there is a varying degree of responsibility.   The Letter of Paul to the Romans, further reinforces what is particularly expected of the masses. That expectation comes in the respect towards our body. Each one, no matter how humble, must act with grace and must reject sin. Sin comes not from within, but either brought in or rejected from our bodies. 00:30:00StudentofTheChurchnoPaul,Luke,Pope,Laity,ExpectationWelcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. Welcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. This show is featured Monday through Friday sometime between the hours of 1PM-3PM. The purpose of the show is to offer a Catholic Perspective on Blog Talk Radio. The show is meant for both Catholics to enjoy as well as those of other denominations or those without any denomination to understand what is to be a Catholic. Today is a difficult but important reading. It is difficult in that in the Letter of Paul we see Paul as a human and disciple instead of as a teacher—as he is in other letters. In the Gospel, we see Jesus send forth his disciples to spread the message of the Lord. In both cases, there is danger and death in their way. So today's readings ask us a Catholics: What is at stake in being a disciple of the Lord? Knowing what is at stake, we must ask ourselves why is it worth it? 00:29:00StudentofTheChurchnoPaul,Luke,Lamb,Wolves,MartyrWelcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis. Today's reading asks a very fundamental question: What is more important to our spirit and to our faith?  The laws and rules which are created by man, or the intention behind those actions which are not governed by law.  Of course it is against the law to steal, but there is no law to give.  Of course it is against the law to trespass on to another person's property, but there is no law to allow those within our home. Today, the scripture concerns those actions which are not written down and punishable but which are far more important than those laws written and punishable. 00:28:00StudentofTheChurchnoPaul,Gospel,Luke,Law,PhariseeWelcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis.  The is a daily show Monday through Friday sometime between 1:00PM -   3:00 PM.  The purpose of the show is to proExegesis Monday October 10, 2011: Scripture's Power http://www.blogtalkradio.com/studentofthechurch/2011/10/10/exegesis-monday-october-10-2011-scriptures-powerReligionhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/studentofthechurch/2011/10/10/exegesis-monday-october-10-2011-scriptures-power/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/studentofthechurch/2011/10/10/exegesis-monday-october-10-2011-scriptures-powerMon, 10 Oct 2011 21:00:00 GMTExegesis Monday October 10, 2011: Scripture's Power Welcome to the Unofficial Catholic Exegesis.  This show will air Monday through Friday sometime between 1PM - 3PM Pacific Standard Time.
