I dedicate this podcast to Senator Marco Rubio of Florida who did nothing since the massacre in Orlando and will probably do nothing after the horrendous carnage in Las Vegas. Leaders are supposed to act on behalf of their followers to define and act to protect them from serious threat. Senator Rubio and the majority of his colleagues in Congress mouth pieties and prayers for the dead and their families but do not act with courage and moral rightness to prevent the killers from acquiring weapons that should only be in the hands of our military. My guess is that they are fearful for their jobs if they anger the NRA and therefore value their jobs more that the lives of those that they lead and swear to protect. They and the rest of us have blood on our hands if we do nothing to stop this slaughter and our descent into barbarism. Yesterday I watched in amazement the surreal scene as a reporter on Fox News ask a former congressman from Utah what we might do to prevent more of these horrors from happening. He stated, nothing can be done and with that the interview was ended. Really, the greatest power in the world cannot prevent its own slide into anarchy and endless bloodbaths. I think that is impossible!
