Media, Celebrity, and the Stories We Live By

I am preoccupied with trying to understand the election of Donald Trump. While there are many reasons for his success I will focus on what I believe to be one of the most important and that that is the role of media replacing human interactions in the creation of the sense of reality, truth, facts and life stories for many individuals. It is media that now confers upon any given individual the status of celebrity and for many it is celebrity that provides the power to define truth, reality, morality and shape human understanding of self and others.
