24th Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today is a day to rejoice in God’s mercy. In the Gospel, we will hear that Jesus welcomes sinners and eats with them. And here we are, gathered around the table of the Lord! Indeed, the Gospel relates three stories of recovery of what was lost and the joy that follows. The first reading as well is a story of love and forgiveness. Perhaps our best response to such a loving and merciful God is a prayer of gratitude, which we can offer during our celebration today.
