It is often difficult to talk about or even think about death, especially our own. Many of us spend our entire lives with the fear lurking in the background of what our final destination will be after our life on earth is over. Questions arise as to whether we have attended church enough, read our Bible enough, prayed enough, or treated our neighbor well enough to gain entrance into heaven. Doubts creep in as we travel on our faith journey as to whether we are deserving enough to reside forever with our Heavenly Father.
George Mains serves as an elder and Bible teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Irwin, PA. He has served as an elder, Bible teacher, and deacon for over thirty years. George worked as a state trooper, school transportation manager, and managed a family business. Several years ago, he began to take part in church outreaches. He found that many believers lack assurance of heaven like he did, due to their misunderstanding of their position in Christ. These experiences inspired him to write his first book, Assurance of Heaven, to help believers grow as children of God, knowing they are secure forever in His hand when they trust in Christ as Savior. He believes you will never have full assurance until you understand that in Christ, you have complete forgiveness.
Join us on Tuesday, November 26th at 8:00 a.m. MST and on archive, when George discusses some of the key concepts in his book that explore the question of whether or not we can look forward to Heaven as our eternal home.
