We have entered into the Advent and Christmas season, when our hearts are filled with joy, peace, and love. Well, they’re supposed to be anyway. But what if they’re not? What if we are dealing with physical pain, illness, financial burdens, marital problems, loss of a loved one, or any number of other circumstances that encompass human suffering and overshadow the festiveness of the season?
Is there anything good about suffering? If you are on the inside of a physically, emotionally, or spiritually painful situation, you probably highly doubt it.
Esther Lovejoy is the author of The Sweet Side of Suffering: In her book, Esther shows us how to recognize God’s best when facing life’s worst. Esther has been privileged to serve in full-time ministry for over 25 years. Presently she is serving as Director of Womens’ Ministries and Prayer at Community Bible Church in Mansfield, Ohio.
Esther is also a frequent retreat and conference speaker. She has a “radio blog” heard on WPGM/WBGM entitled View from the Sparrow’s Nest and an internet blog of the same name. Join us on Tuesday, December 12th at 8:00 AM MST, when Esther will share what she has learned about human suffering and God's promises that bring us through it.
