S:6 E:233 guests are Elise Brenner and Nancy Spatz whose book, Reiki: A Self-Practice To Live in Peace with Self and Others is coming out this Feb. 1st.

Elise is committed to wellness equity, supporting people of all ages, backgrounds, and health conditions who wish to benefit from Reiki practice and Mindfulness Meditation for general wellness, stress reduction, and emotional healing, as well as for relief from specific physical conditions and pain.

She has a background and experience in trauma-informed, and trauma-responsive, care and brings this knowledge and these skills to Reiki sessions, Reiki training, Reiki outreach work, and Mindfulness Meditation workshops

Elise provides Reiki training for staff at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center staff, Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans Administration Hospital and Tufts Medical Center.

As an anthropologist, she has researched cross-cultural healing practices, thereby enriching the scope and depth of her Reiki practice. She continues as Assistant Teaching Professor in the Public Health Department at Simmons University and in the Anthropology Department Bridgewater State University.

Nancy Spatz, MD, Reiki Master Teacher, graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 1990.Her training continued at Beth Israel Hospital-Harvard Medical School, where she completed her Psychiatry training in 1994.

After witnessing the ongoing hardships that people experience with medical and emotional illness, Nancy found that the combination of her medical knowledge and Reiki practice helped people calm the mind, settle the body, and heal.

Nancy has been involved in advocacy work for children for several decades. Early in her training, Nancy realized that childhood experiences shape children's ability to cope and advocate for themselves.

She is the co-founder of Inspire Power Advocacy in Motion.
