Cory Almeida stars as the hi-energy host of the new family-friendly game show, Pictureka!debuting on the newly rebranded Hub network on October 11th. To date, Cory is probably best known as a correspondent for FOX.com and his red carpet coverage of events such as the FOX Fall Premiere Parties or series launch events like the one for Season Two of Glee. Cory is also familiar to anyone who has attended a live taping of shows such as American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, America's Got Talent or So You Think You Can Dance where Cory is the entertaining DJ and informative warm-up host making sure the studio audience is prepped, energized and ready to clap, boo, laugh and awe during the live tapings.Cory's foray into game show hosting is just the next step in Cory's ever-evolving career in entertainment, which he began back in Boston as a DJ for WERS 88.9FM while attending Emerson College. Moving to Los Angeles during his final semester, Cory booked his first audition as a hip-hop dancer for Universal Studios Hollywood. Cory danced in several live shows for the theme park and also branched out to work with a number of pop music artists. Additionally Cory had the opportunity at Universal Studios to get his feet wet engaging large audiences as the host of Totally Nickelodeon, a live interactive show. Enjoying the audience interaction, Cory sought out more jobs in the same vein. The family board game Pictureka! comes to life as a breakout game show just for kids and families! Featuring an elaborate stage set and a dynamic host (Cory Almeida), kid contestants and their parents (along with viewers at home) are challenged to seek and find specific pictures before time runs out. Those with the sharpest eyes find the right objects and win points and prizes! Find it fast. Find it first. Weekdays at 1pm PST / 4pm EST on The Hub (formerly Discovery Kids).
