The Rev. Robert Sirico has been active in public policy affairs for more than thirty years. He co-founded the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty (www.acton.org) in 1990 after finding religious studies students lacked training in fundamental economic principles, leaving them poorly equipped to understand and address today’s social problems.
Father Sirico received his Master of Divinity degree from the Catholic University of America, following undergraduate study at the University of Southern California and the University of London. In addition, Father Sirico has received an honorary doctorate in Christian Ethics from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, and an honorary doctorate in Social Sciences from the Universidad Francisco Marroquin. He currently serves on the pastoral staff of Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
