How do you feel when someone says 'thank you'? Not the standard 'thank you' but a true heart-felt expression of gratitude for you or for something you have done for someone else? Now would you be willing to do the same for someone else?
There is no question that the expression of true gratitude gives the receiver a blessing they will remember. Elizabeth Hartigan shares with us the beauty and healing of gratitude and how being grateful can open us up for abundance in amazing ways.
Here is an excerpt from her blog on December 22, 2012:
What if, we all took the time to write letters of gratitude and share the ways we are grateful for their presence in our lives. What if, we simply said thank you!! One of my favorite quotes is by Meister Eckhart that says if the only prayer you ever pray is thank you, that will suffice. What if we took that principal into our relationships and made a conscious effort to thank those around us and in our lives. From our immediate family and closet friends are the obvious choices. What if we all took the time to thank all of the people who bless our lives by making it more pleasant and enjoyable. From the mailman, the garbage collector, to the friendly barista who creates your favorite beverage, or the clerk who rings up your groceries or purchases. When was the last time you looked into their eyes and simply said thank you?
