Dr. Kolb's book,  Her Place at the Table: A Woman's Guide to Negotiating the Five Challenges of Leadership Success is a practical guide for any woman dealing with a demanding role. Drawing on extensive interviews with women leaders, the authors isolate five key challenges: Intelligence; Backing; Resources; Buy-In; and Making a Difference. For each challenge, we offer tips on avoiding common traps. But knowing what tests to expect and the traps to avoid is not enough. You have to be equipped with the strategic moves that position you for success. The bottom line is that only you can negotiate the conditions for success - no one else will do it for you!

Dr. Kolb is an authority on gender issues in negotiation and leadership, especially how women can negotiate the conditions for their own success while contributing to the effectiveness of their organization. Dr. Kolb is Deloitte Ellen Gabriel Professor for Women and Leadership (Emerita) and Distinguished Research Fellow at the Center for Gender in Organizations at the Simmons School of Management. From 1991-1994, Kolb was Executive Director of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
