Rags to Riches: An Entrepreneurial Story

Friday October 14th at Noon EST: Tony Hartl, founder of Planet Tan, joins Donna Amos to share his Rags to Riches entrepreneurial story.

Tony Hartl graduated from Southern Illinois University and focused his business career goals in the fitness industry. Growing quickly, he became Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for a Health Club Chain.

In 1995 he founded Planet Tan with three locations and a vision “to provide an affordable luxury where everybody can feel better about themselves." The company grew, and by 2008 it generated average per-unit sales of $1 million--the highest in the country.

Tony has a passion for mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs. He sits on the board of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), an organization dedicated to helping young people from low-income communities build skills and unlock their entrepreneurial creativity.

Tony's new book Selling Sunshine: 75 Tools, Tips, and Tactics for Becoming a Wildly Successful Entrepreneur is designed to equip everyone from upper management to entry-level employees with actionable items to achieve professional success.
