Sherri Wargin - Nothing But the Blood

"There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains."
 

The words to the above hymn hold such a powerful truth. There's NOTHING but the blood of Jesus to take away our sins. The blood of Jesus washes us and cleanseth us from all our sins, from all its consequentces and from all guilt. 1 John 1:7, "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin."

The new covenant of atonement for sins that God designed between Him and man was a better covenant.The old covenant of the blood sacrifice of animals and birds COVERED the sins of the people.  The new covenant of the precious blood of God's only Son, who lived a perfect sinless life --  CLEANSES us and WASHES AWAY COMPLETELY our sins and gives us eternal redemption. 

Hebrews 9:12-14 "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Jesus placed everyone’s sin upon Himself and became the ultimate sacrifice for the remission of all mankind’s sin. What can wash away our sin? Nothing BUT the blood of Jesus!!!
