La’Tivia Elizabeth Tipton was born and raised in the sunny beaches of West Palm Beach, Florida. Growing up, she was known to have two personalities: One being a very sensitive and quiet introvert, while close family and friends knew her to be a burst of joy, a smile that can change a setting of the room, humorous, and compassionate. A struggle always arose when she attempted to step out the box of her ‘comfort zone’; however as God began to mature her she became more confident in who He called her to be. Little did she know that God would combine both personalities in order for her to do the work of His Kingdom.      La’Tivia graduated from Florida State University receiving a Bachelors of Arts in English with an emphasis in Literature, where she now resides in Tallahassee, Florida. Obtaining her degree was not an easy ride for her as she struggled both financially and emotionally. She grew up in a single parent household which consisted of a strong mother and two beautiful younger sisters. From a young age, La’Tivia struggled with the absence of her father, whereby creating a void she attempted to fill with worldly and fleeting pleasures. Ultimately, this void was used to lead her to her true Heavenly Father, God.      La’Tivia pursued a ten year career in Healthcare Administration and Management though she always felt a deep passion to teach. In 2008, with a pursuit to understand her purpose on earth, she felt led to undergo a 5 day fast of drinking only water. During this fast, God called her to begin writing daily devotionals. Soon after, the purpose was birthed and so was God’s mission via La’Tivia:  00:43:00Shawnte Mckinnonnoministry,Family, relationshipsJoin me as I interview Author La'Tivia Tipton on her new power impacted book! Nicole is no stranger to heartache, tragedy, abandonment and shame. She was raised in the housing projects in the inner city “slums” of Louisville, KY. She saw more violence, drug dealing, and scandals before the age of 12 years old than most people see in their entire lives. After her first year of college, Nicole’s mother (the only parent she had ever known) died of a massive heart attack in her late 40’s causing her to feel deserted and discouraged. Her life went downhill from there as she searched for love in all of the wrong places to fill her void. She experienced sexual, physical, mental and even spiritual abuse. Her early learned faith is what gave her hope that one day God would change her life and make her a beacon of light for other females. She did not accept the victim mentality, but went on to become a Holy Ghost filled, fearless Christian and business leader, obtained several undergrad college degrees as well as a Master’s Degree in Ministerial/Pastoral Leadership from Wesleyan Seminary. Now as a pastor and motivational speaker, she has the opportunity to speak to thousands of women across the nation to help them understand that they are “greater than their failures”. 01:00:00Shawnte MckinnonnoLove,Family,Sex,Relationships,AbuseIf not dealt with, life failures can put people into a paralysis state of mind.  It’s important to know that life will deal you many different kinds of hands,WHY IS THE WAIT SO LONGhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/shawnte-mckinnon/2013/09/21/why-is-the-wait-so-longLifestylehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/shawnte-mckinnon/2013/09/21/why-is-the-wait-so-long/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/shawnte-mckinnon/2013/09/21/why-is-the-wait-so-longSat, 21 Sep 2013 14:00:00 GMTWHY IS THE WAIT SO LONGMany people are in a position where they are waiting for something great to happen in their lives.  It may be that new promotion, spouse, business, etc., but the wait feels so long.  Are you growing weary in the wait?  Have you allowed the voices of yourself or even others discourage you.  Join us this Saturday as we talked about why the wait feels like an eternity. 00:47:00Shawnte MckinnonnoRelationships,Family, ministry,LOVE,EncouragementMany people are in a position where they are waiting for something great to happen in their lives.  It may be that new promotion, spouse, business, etc., but thKNOW YOUR WORTHhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/shawnte-mckinnon/2013/09/14/know-your-worthLifestylehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/shawnte-mckinnon/2013/09/14/know-your-worth/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/shawnte-mckinnon/2013/09/14/know-your-worthSat, 14 Sep 2013 14:00:00 GMTKNOW YOUR WORTHDo you really know your worth?
